The next stop on our adventure in the Philippines is Huma Island. Here, we are staying at the Island’s private resort: Huma Island Resort & Spa. It is completely surrounded by tropical paradise and a landscape that is filled with incredible marine life, green forests and white beaches. For accommodation, the resort offers eighty-one villas, located either on the shoreline or over the turquoise waters! Wherever you stay, you will have a front-row view of the tranquil coastline. For something a little more active, you can make the most of the natural beauty by doing some scuba diving, snorkeling or hopping between the islands. If you’re after some wind-down time, there are plenty of dining venues, spas and bars.
Huma Island is one out of over 1000 islands stretched between China and the Sulu Seas in the Palawan region. On arrival, the view was simply outstanding, as we entered the reception area, pretty much the entire staff were singing ‘Welcome to Huma Island’, we felt so welcomed immediately. It was a great way meet the team, on such a small island, every face becomes a familiar face very quickly, so this greeting was especially intimate.
The 80 villas on the island are divided in to two sections, one on each side of the island, both have stunning views of the ocean thanks to being off shore on wooden stilts.
The villas are incredibly luxurious, each with it’s own private spa and sunbathing area, wifi and air conditioning as standard.
Huma Island Resort has a number of restaurants, led by the incredible Executive Chef, Trevor Furner. He started his career in Chelsea, London and has worked with some of the world’s greatest chefs including Gordon Ramsey and Marco Pierre White. Now he runs all the restaurants on Huma Island which include a Lebanese, an Italian, a seafood and International restaurant. He’s also currently working on Huma Island’s new Asian restaurant.
The views from every restaurant are simply outstanding. The beauty of being positioned on such a small island means that every view is a good view. (Check the drone tour video at the top of this post)
The pool area at Huma Island connects the pristine beach with the two rows of villas, and we can’t forget the ocean trampoline! You’ll have to watch the vlog to see that adventure!
Huma Island is probably the most beautiful place I’ve visited so far in my travels.

I used to work in corporate law, before quitting my job to start an eco-friendly brand helping to clean up the ocean. I travel full time with my husband exploring this wonderful place we all call home.
